BILOELA Junior Cricketers had a treat last Tuesday when former Australian player Geoff Dymock hosted a coaching clinic.

Biloela Junior Cricket president Darren Bath said 26 kids from the club took part in the coaching clinic.

"Geoff just took them through all the skills like batting and bowling and they had games as well," Darren said.

"We have had good feedback from it so I think the kids got a bit out of it."

Darren said it was important young cricketers had exposure to this calibre of coaching.

"I think we have limited exposure to good coaches where we live, so whenever we're approached to have one of these coaching clinics it gives the kids someone to look up to.

"So we like to grab the opportunity whenever it comes up."

Darren said the season was going well for the club.

"We have got a lot of young kids doing the Milo program which is going well.

"Our numbers are down a little bit on what they were last year.

"We have got a lot of younger kids but we have lost some of our older 15 and 16-year-olds. We sometimes struggle with that age group."

The club has two more Friday games before members break for Christmas.
