GOLD Coast Titans have added another Queensland State of Origin forward to their roster for next season, with powerful forward Dave Taylor signing a two-year contract for seasons 2013 and 2014 with a further two-year option.
The hulking South Sydney forward will join the Titans from 2013 in a deal which could see him remain on the Gold Coast until the end of the 2016 season.
The 23-year-old will join existing Maroons State of Origin team-mates Nate Myles and Ashley Harrison at the club, along with past and present NSW Origin representatives Greg Bird and Luke Bailey.
Titans Coach John Cartwright described Taylor's skilfulness and size as a "rare mix" and added the fact that a player of his standing had committed to the club long-term sent a positive message.
"It's fantastic to get a Queenslander back home and a State of Origin player to boot," said Cartwright.
"He's going to make our club a better club. He can do it all, he's got the hands of a six or a seven, he's got the speed of a centre and he's 120kg so it's a very rare mix.
"He takes a lot of pressure off your playmakers. You don't need to create a hell of a lot when you've got players like Taylor and (Jamal) Idris around the football.
"He's a very young man and he's going to be a great acquisition for the club."
