MORE than 8.7kg of synthetic cannabis, weapons and cash were seized during police raids in Mount Isa which also netted 12 arrests.

The Australian Federal Police, Australian Customs and Border Protection Service and Queensland Police conducted the raids "in the past few days".

They were part of a wider national crackdown on illicit drugs, which has involved 37 arrests since March.

Those arrested in Mt Isa will appear before the town's magistrate's court on July 2.
