Leg trapped in two-vehicle accident

A WOMAN was trapped after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Short and Dundas Sts.

The accident happened shortly after 5.30pm on Wednesday with the woman receiving leg injuries and having to be transported to the Emerald Hospital.

Police are still investigating the accident as they were called to the truck that caught alight on the Capricorn Hwy.

Bus driver drunk behind the wheel

A BLACKWATER bus driver was almost three times the legal alcohol limit when police pulled over his 23-seater Mitsubishi vehicle on Sunday.

The male, 52, blew 0.147% at 8.20pm and was charged with drink driving.

The bus had been running between the Workers Club and Banksia Village on the Curragh Mine Access Rd.

Speeding fine

A DRIVER will appear in Blackwater Magistrate's Court after police clocked his black Mitsubishi sedan doing more than 50km over the speed limit on the Blackwater-Cooroorah Rd on Sunday night.

The 24-year-old's vehicle was doing 152km in a 100kmh zone at 7.15pm.
