NO SO HAPPY HOLIDAY: This caravan was side swiped on the Burnett Highway, just outside Thangool, on Wednesday after a semi-trailer attempted to overtake it.

A GLADSTONE family had a rocky start to their holiday when their caravan was side-swiped by a semi-trailer as they made their way to Cania Gorge National Park.

It is believed the semi- trailer was attempting to overtake the Toyota LandCruiser and caravan near Thangool on Wednesday about 9.15am and pushed them off the road as it did so.

The semi-trailer failed to remain at the scene.

There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

The 62-year-old male driver of the 4WD and caravan was travelling with his wife at the time of the incident. His son and his partner were following in a separate vehicle.

Police are seeking the driver of the semi-trailer.
