TWEED-born model Samantha Harris has escaped with minor injuries after a fatal car crash that left her fiance Luke Hunt with injuries to his back.

According to Sydney media, the couple were driving in northern Sydney on their way to the gym on Saturday morning when their Commodore and a Hyundai Lantra collided at the intersection of Warringah Rd and Alfred St, Narraweena.

The 79-year-old man driving the Lantra died a short time later in hospital.

Mr Hunt, 26, a builder, suffered spinal injuries while Miss Harris was treated for cuts and bruises.

With the accident now the subject of a police investigation, the model is unwilling to discuss any specific details.

Miss Harris' manager Kathy Ward said the model was a little shaken but would be releasing comments to My Daily News soon.

The couple met on the Gold Coast when Miss Harris was just 17 and were engaged 18 months ago.

Miss Harris pulled out of the Instyle Women of Style Awards on Tuesday night.
