Nomads member bailed on drug charges

A MEMBER of the Nomads outlaw motorcycle gang has been granted bail in a Gold Coast court on drug, weapon and assault charges.

A MEMBER of the Nomads outlaw motorcycle gang has been granted bail in a Gold Coast court on drug, weapon and assault charges.

Christopher John Grimshaw, 24, of Surfers Paradise, was one of three men arrested on Thursday as part of a police operation targeting bikies.

Police allegedly uncovered a stockpile of drugs and weapons such as knives and pickhandles after raiding the Nomads' Carrara clubhouse and six homes on the Gold Coast.

Grimshaw faced Southport Magistrates Court on Friday on various charges including the possession of an extendable baton.

He has also been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm stemming from an incident on June 13 in Surfers Paradise.

The other two men arrested, including the club president and another full member, have been bailed to appear in court on July 2.

Magistrate Terry Duroux granted bail on the condition Grimshaw report twice a week to the Surfers Paradise police station and ordered him to reappear on June 29.
