CQ News – Easter Colour Competition

THE COMPETITION

  1. The Promoter is Central Queensland News Publishing Company Pty Ltd. 5/104 Egerton Street, Emerald, Queensland 4720. ABN 69 009 657 327; Telephone: 07 4980 0820.
  2. By entering this competition, Contestants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
  3. Contestants must be permanent residents of Queensland who reside within the CQ News newspaper distribution area to be eligible to enter.
  4. Contestants who are under 18 years of age must have parent/legal guardian permission to enter the competition.
  5. Contestants acknowledge that as part of entry to this competition, they agree to have their entry go on display at the Plaza Shopping Centre for judging between April 5 and April 18, 2017.
  6. If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and anything else that refers to this competition, then these Terms and Conditions will prevail. 

ENTRY

  1. To enter, Contestants must collect and complete the colouring-in picture published in the CQ News on Friday March 17, Friday March 24 and Friday March 31, 2017.
  2. Entry forms and colouring-in image must be original newsprint.
  3. Photocopies, scanned images, web/digital prints, reproductions or other falsified artwork will not be accepted.
  4. The colouring-in entry must be the contestant’s own work.   
  5. The contestant must place their fully completed entry form into an envelope marked CQ News – Easter Colour Competition; then
  • Deliver to CQ News, Shop 5/104 Egerton Street, Emerald Qld 4720; or
  • Send to: CQ News, PO Box 259, Emerald Qld 4720.  
  1. Entries must be received within the Promotion Period (refer Clause 15).
  2. Contestants may submit more than one entry, but can win only one (1) prize throughout the promotion.  
  3. Entrants are responsible for any cost associated with delivery or postage of entries.

PROMOTION PERIOD

  1. The Competition commences Friday March 17, 2017 and closes 5:00PM AEST Monday April 3, 2017 (‘Promotion Period’). Entries received outside the Promotion Period will be deemed invalid and will not be entered in the competition.  

PRIZES

  1. There will be 10 winners. Three winners will be selected for each age category, 3 - 5 years; 6 – 8 years; and 9 – 12 yrs. There will be one (1) winner in the 13+ Category.

Prize winners will receive the following prize:

  1. 3 – 5 years:
    1. 1 of 3 Family Passes redeemable at Emerald Cinema Complex, Emerald Qld, RRP $45.00 each (inclusive of GST).
    2. Family pass admits 2 adults and 2 children (under 16 years of age).
    3. Terms and Conditions of Cinema entry may apply. Please refer to the Emerald Cinema Complex for sessions, movies, entry and use of cinema terms and conditions.
  2. 6 – 8 years:
    1. 1 of 3 Family Passes redeemable at Emerald Cinema Complex, Emerald Qld, RRP $45.00 each (inclusive of GST).
    2. Family pass admits 2 adults and 2 children (under 16 years of age).
    3. Terms and Conditions of Cinema entry may apply. Please refer to the Emerald Cinema Complex for sessions, movies, entry and use of cinema terms and conditions.
  3. 9 – 12 years:
    1. 1 of 3 Family Passes redeemable at Emerald Cinema Complex, Emerald Qld, RRP $45.00 each (inclusive of GST).
    2. Family pass admits 2 adults and 2 children (under 16 years of age).
    3. Terms and Conditions of Cinema entry may apply. Please refer to the Emerald Cinema Complex for sessions, movies, entry and use of cinema terms and conditions.
  4. 13+ years:
    1. One (1) Family Passes redeemable at Emerald Cinema Complex, Emerald Qld, RRP $45.00 each (inclusive of GST).
    2. Family pass admits 2 adults and 2 children (under 16 years of age).
  • Terms and Conditions of Cinema entry may apply. Please refer to the Emerald Cinema Complex for sessions, movies, entry and use of cinema terms and conditions.
  1. Family passes will expire 12 months after collection of the prize from the CQ News.
  2. The total maximum recommended retail value of the prize pool is $450.00 (inclusive of GST).
  3. All prizes are valued inclusive of GST and shown as Recommended Retail Price. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any variations in item values. 
  4. Any taxes which may be payable as a consequence of a contestant winning a prize, are the sole responsibility of that winner. 
  5. Prizes are non-transferable and can’t be redeemed for cash. 
  6. If the specified prize becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter may substitute a prize of similar nature and/or like or greater value.

ELIGIBILITY LIMITATIONS

  1. The following persons are ineligible to enter.
  • Employees of, or contractors to, the Promoter as far as they are directly associated with this competition;
  • The spouse, de facto spouse, parent, natural or adopted child, and sibling (whether natural or adopted by a parent), of such employees and contractors (whether they live in the same household or not);
  • Contestants who have used or attempted to use any more than one name to qualify to win any contest run by the Promoter except in the case of a legal change of name.
  1. All Contestants acknowledge that even if the Promoter only learns of a person’s ineligibility after the Promoter has appeared to award the prize to the ineligible person, it may require the return of the prize or payment of its value to the Promoter to be dealt with as an unclaimed prize.

PRIZE DRAW

  1. The prize winners will be selected via judging of the artwork submitted, at the Plaza Shopping Complex at 6:00pm AEST Wednesday April 5, 2017.
  2. Judging will be based on neatness, colour coordination and skill in each age group.  
  3. The prizes will be awarded following winner validation and verification. 
  4. The winners will be contacted by telephone.
  5. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 
  6. The winner’s details will be published in the CQ News Friday April 7, 2017.      
  7. All Contestants acknowledge that the Promoter has the right to publicise and publish his/her name, character and likeness. 
  8. All contest winners must avail themselves for a photo if required by the Promoter and acknowledge that the Promoter has the right to utilise publicity photos in any reasonable manner it sees fit without compensation to the Contestant.

PRIZE COLLECTION

  1. Prizes must be claimed in person by the winner (with their parent/legal guardian if under 18 years of age) from the CQ News office, Emerald and Government issued Photo ID is required to confirm identity and residential address.  
  2. Any winner must complete a Competition Release Form to confirm collection of their prize.
  3. It is the sole responsibility of the winner to collect their prize.
  4. Prizes that remain uncollected after 90 days from notification of the draw will be re-entered in to an uncollected prize redraw with further judging of remaining entries to select redraw winners in each age category, as per these terms and conditions.

PROMOTER’S LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

41. The Promoter is not responsible for the loss of prizes due to incorrect or imprecise delivery details provided by a winner.  The Promoter also takes no responsibility for prizes lost or stolen after they have been released for delivery via postage or courier. 

42. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of any of the goods/services offered as prizes. 

43. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss suffered or sustained by any person and including, but not limited to consequential (including economic) loss because of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter, or its servants or agents, about the arrangement for supply, or the supply, of any goods or services by any person to the prize winner(s) and, where applicable, to any persons accompanying the winners.

44. Subject to complying with all relevant state and Territory legislation, the Promoter reserves the right to amend, cancel or suspend this competition if an event beyond the control of the Promoter corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition.

45. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or infect the administration, security fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any direction given by State Regulation.

PRIVACY

46. All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter and its related parties, subject to the limits contained in the Privacy Statement and as set out in these terms and conditions.

47. The Promoter and its related parties, also collect personal information to conduct the Promotion and may use and disclose such information in accordance with its privacy policy www.apnarm.com.au/privacy, including to sending ongoing information and promotional material about opportunities, services and products (relating to our business or a third party).

48. To facilitate your participation, the Promoter may disclose your personal information to other companies associated with this promotion.
