THREE teenagers are among the youngest people ever charged with murder in Queensland after an alleged brutal bashing over a packet of cigarettes.

Two of the boys were just 14 when they allegedly launched a "vicious and cowardly" attack on Gregory Stephen Gardner at Stones Corner, in Brisbane's south, on January 10 this year.

They were arrested yesterday over the alleged robbery.

Gardner was himself a notorious armed robber who became known as "The Bad Tooth Bandit" after robbing building societies and credit unions in the 1990s, it can be revealed.
