Community Cabinet heads to the Gold Coast this month

GOLD Coast residents will get the opportunity to meet with senior government ministers later this month when the Community Cabinet road show rolls into town.

The city has been selected as the next destination to host the two-day event on March 23 and 24.

Premier Campbell Newman said he was excited to bring his Cabinet to the Gold Coast to hear firsthand from residents and businesses about the issues that matter at the local level.

"The Gold Coast is often seen as the tourism gateway to Queensland," he said.

"But we know there is much more to our iconic Queensland hotspot than tourism and I am looking forward to listening and consulting with everyone on all topics and in all areas of the Gold Coast."

"This is a unique opportunity for local residents, organisations and businesses to sit down with relevant ministers and be heard on local issues."

The two-day event is the 13th Community Cabinet held in regional Queensland following sessions in Goondiwindi, the Fraser Coast, Cairns, Townsville, Kingaroy, Toowoomba, the Whitsundays, Ayr, Thursday Island, Gladstone, Emerald and Tully.
