Former Rocky woman Chantelle to watch fiance in Origin game

SHE may have been a Rocky girl, but Chantelle Traficante has good reason to be in love with the Blues tomorrow night.

You can't really blame her. Chantelle's husband-to-be Trent Hodkinson will be running out in the coveted number 7 guernsey for NSW in Origin I.

The former Rockhampton woman met the 25-year-old Canterbury Bulldogs player in Rockhampton in 2009 and moved to Sydney with him in 2010.

Now the pair are living in Cronulla and are to be married in October.

But another huge milestone for the couple was last Sunday when Trent found out he was in the NSW team for this year's State of Origin opener.

Chantelle, 26, said it was one of the happiest moments for them both.

"Seeing what he does every day and how dedicated he is, he inspires me," she said yesterday.

"He couldn't put his phone down all morning, and when he got the call he was just pacing.

"It was when I heard him say, 'I'm absolutely stoked' that I knew he'd got in."

Attending Rockhampton's TCC for four years and studying a Bachelor of Multimedia at CQUniversity as well as playing for the Cyclones, Chantelle who is originally from Tamworth said CQ still had a special place in her heart.

"My mum's still up there," she said.

"She has a beach house at Bangalee so we get up there to get away whenever we can."

But come game night tomorrow, it'll be NSW that she'll be cheering for.

"I've never actually been to an Origin game before so it'll be a first for both of us," she said.

"But I'm born and bred NSW... I bleed blue. No doubt there'll be a few tears on the night though."
