Woman caught driving 201kmh

A WOMAN who was detected driving at 201kmh in a 100 zone will face court charged with six offences.

The driver had a restricted work licence when she drove on the Gregory Hwy Thursday night before being detected by police travelling 103kmh in an 80 zone.

Once within their sight, the driver sped up to 201kmh.

She eventually pulled over in her green Ford Falcon sedan and was breath tested by police.

The driver recorded a a blood alcohol reading of 0.035% as a result.

She was issued with a notice to appear for being over the required zero alcohol limit, evading police, exceeding the speed limit, failing to produce a P-licence, failing to comply with restricted licence and failing to produce a restricted notice.

The 34-year-old is due to appear in Emerald Magistrate’s Court on August 8.
