Adam quits MasterChef

MASTERCHEF’S Adam Bowen shocked competitors and judges when he quit the show last night.

He admitted he was overcome with guilt because his passion for cooking was not as great as his competitors.

Adam said all the contestants still on the show wanted a career in the food industry and they deserved the opportunity to change their life.

“I have a great life and I really didn’t want a career in the food industry,” he said.

The Brisbane scuba diving instructor was in high spirits as he spoke to the Daily about his time on the show.

He said he had no regrets about being on the show because it had meant would know once and for all if he had made the right choice about not following a career in food at the age of 17.

“It was a lot of fun and I met some great people who I know will be friends for life,” he said.

“I will continue to cook but only for fun.

“The show taught me I shouldn’t work as much as I used too; I need to enjoy myself more.”

Adam said his focus would be on his scuba diving business now and getting back to his normal life.

“I am training for the Gold Coast Marathon at the moment – I am trying to get fit again,” he said.

“I put on 10kg in the past year since finding out I was apart of the MasterChef series.”

The 32 year-old said he would be tuning in to see his friends compete for the MasterChef title but wouldn’t be watching any episodes he was in.

“It is hard seeing yourself on the screen,” he said.
