Cowboys strike

AGAINST all odds Emerald Cowboys have taken out a 36-24 victory over Bluff Rabbitohs at the weekend.

Struggling for numbers, the Cowboys fielded the bare minimum 13 players for the match-up in Blackwater and pulled out all stumps to claw out a much sought-after win.

Braden Kadell couldn’t keep out of the attack, posting three tries for Emerald with Tim Harradine nailing an impeccable six conversions.

Bluff co-coach Michael Muller said tries went begging for the Rabbitohs on a number of occasions through simple mistakes and poor ball handling.

Brodie Kuhn was the only shining light for Bluff in his first game back in three years, in an otherwise disappointing encounter for the Rabbitohs.

Muller said he hoped they could regather their good form seen earlier this season for tomorrow night’s game away against Middlemount Panthers.

Cowboys were unavailable for comment.
