Teen charged after allegedly making gun threats at shop
UPDATE 6AM:
POLICE have charged a man with armed robbery after an incident at Currimundi on Sunday night.
Police alleged that at about 4:45pm the man entered a take away business in Nicklin Way and made threats to staff claiming he had a gun and demanding money.
Staff allegedly complied handing over a sum of money and the man left the store on foot.
The man was located by police short time later in Wurtulla and he was arrested and taken into custody.
A 17-year-old Wurtulla man has been charged with robbery and is due to appear in the Caloundra Magistrates Court on July 16.
EARLIER:
POLICE are investigating an alleged armed robbery at a restaurant at Currimundi Marketplace.
Details are scarce at the moment but it is understood at about 5pm a man entered a Wok Me and passed a note to the attendant claiming he had a gun.
The man has been described as wearing a hooded jumper with red sleeves.
Police are patrolling the area.
There are no further details at this stage.
