Alonso moves up in ranking after Spanish Grand Prix win

VICTORY in the Spanish Grand Prix has moved Fernando Alonso to third in the drivers championship, four points behind defending champion Sebastian Vettel who finished fourth.

But Alonso was less then impressed afterwards, saying the introduction of new Pirelli tyres that saw half of the cars forced to make at least four pit stops was ruining the sport for everyone.

"I think it is impossible to follow a race," he said.

"If I am sitting in the grandstand without any radio or telephone or whatever, you only see cars passing. Is it too much confusion for the spectators? There is no doubt."
