Up and coming local songstress wows at Peats Ridge Festival

SHE started her career at the Jetty Theatre as a four year old, singing On the Goodship Lollipop.

Now Bonnie Ferguson has played her first set at the prestigious Peats Ridge Festival.

"It was incredible, it was so much fun," she said of the gig.

The first two of her three shows were an interactive musical story about Snow White.

"All the kids ended up getting really involved, I got kids up on stage to play the Seven Dwarves - they came up with crazy ideas for it," Bonnie said.

Her last gig was on New Year's Eve, a big night at the festival closed by John Butler Trio.

"I was playing originals and some covers - it was an amazing experience," Bonnie said.

Former Miss Valla Beach and Miss Coffs Harbour Showgirl, Bonnie made her gig debut at the Coffs Harbour Hotel for St Patricks Day at the tender age of 12 and sang on Star FM radio that day.

This year, Bonnie was the MC for the LocalMade Festival, and also scored a five year contract as face of Sydney's Cockatoo Island Film Festival.

Currently recording an EP of her original songs, Bonnie is set to be the very first artist released on brand new label LocalMade Records.

"Hopefully it'll be out really soon, I still haven't quite decided what it will be called," Bonnie said.

"It's all original songs, they're all about really different things: 'Mango Heart' is about my grandfather who passed away, about how I missed him. It's about love, but I'm trying not to be cliched."

This girl is definitely one to watch - for more info, check out her Facebook page.
