Another helping of Black Caviar

NOT sure if anyone at the Emerald Jockey Club has ties with trainer Peter Moody, but it seems champion mare Black Caviar's starts coincide with race meetings at Pioneer Park.

Patrons took the opportunity to view her Caulfield win on the big screen on Emerald 100 Day and if she wins at Moonee Valley tomorrow she will be gunning for her 16th consecutive win at Flemington on November 5.

That will coincide with Central Highlands Regional Council Race Day at Pioneer Park.

THE traditional Calcutta held on the Friday night prior to Emerald 100 Race Day was one of the best held to date.

Special guests, Radio TAB personalities Rob Luck and Tony Clements, were interviewed at length by compere Mark Forbes.

Clements gave an intriguing insight into the making of the film The Cup and Luck spoke of his experiences as a successful race horse owner.

He shares in the ownership of the Manzelmann-trained Rocket To Glory, which has won more than $400,000 in prizemoney to date.

GREAT to see three stalwarts of the Emerald Jockey Club presented with their life memberships on the night of the Calcutta.

Dyrelle Davis, Noel Coyne and Pat Boland cumulatively have served the club for nigh on 100 years and the acknowledgement of their contribution was well deserved.
