Another week of wet

THE latest flood warning from the Bureau of Meteorology for the Fitzroy River Basin states that moderate to major flooding will continue for at least another week.

Heavy rainfall is expected throughout the Highlands tomorrow which will prolong the floods and could increase water levels significantly.

Major flooding is continuing in the Comet River.

Levels will gradually fall but are expected to remain high until tomorrow - with any renewed rises being dependent on more rainfall being received.

The Mackenzie River will continue to flow at moderate to major flood levels for today.

River levels peaked on Wednesday night in the Bingegang area. River levels at Coolamaringa peaked yesterday at the moderate level of 18.5 metres.
