ANTHONY Seibold is going from strength to strength.
The Rockhampton product, who played for the Brisbane Broncos and Canberra Raiders in the NRL in the '90s, has reportedly signed on as the Queensland Maroons assistant coach for the 2016 State of Origin (SOO) series.
According to southern media, 2016 Maroons head coach Kevin Walters recently offered the position to Seibold and he is expected to be unveiled as the assistant coach pending approval from the Queensland Rugby League board.
The move comes just three weeks after Walters axed four long-serving Maroons staff, including Rockhampton's Jason Hetherington who acted as an assistant coach to Mal Meninga for nearly 10 years.
Seibold is no stranger to the Maroons camp, having coached the Queensland U18 side against New South Wales in SOO for the past three years running and the state under-16 side before that.
The 2016 NRL season is already shaping up in Seibold's favour, with the local rugby league star leaving his posting as the Melbourne Storm development coach to join the Manly Sea Eagles ranks as assistant coach.
