Skate park spruced up

By Di Stanley

EMERALD State School's Year 7A students led the emu parade yesterday morning as they came with hats, gloves, garbage bags and hope of a better future for the local skate park.

The graffiti, much of it sexual in nature, was brushed over with blue and green paint by council officers, and will receive a further coat on Friday.

The children confined themselves to the clean-up of a kaleidoscopic sea of takeaway food wrappers, drink cups, and unfortunately shards of broken glass. No drug paraphernalia was found at the Dundas Street site.
