Arnold keen to bring glory back to Sky Blues

FOOTBALL: As a proud Sydney man, it has hurt Graham Arnold to see the Sky Blues under-achieve since winning their second, and last championship, in 2010.

That was why the former Socceroos player and coach said he would do everything in his power to return the club to its "glamour" status, after being announced as Sydney FC coach yesterday.

He reportedly signed for $1.8 million over three years, making him the best-paid coach in the A-League.

"It has always been my dream as a Sydney boy to coach Sydney FC, in my view the biggest club in the country," Arnold said.

"I'm looking forward to working with the players and coaching Sydney FC to consistent domestic success, and Asian Champions League qualification."

Arnold (pictured) has lifted silverware in each of his past two full seasons as a coach in the A-League, securing the 2011/12 premiership with Central Coast, and the 2012/13 championship a year later.
