Man charged over one of two violent assaults in Gladstone

A 21-YEAR-old man and a 31-year-old man have both been hospitalised in Brisbane overnight after being the victims of two separate, violent assaults in the Gladstone CBD.

The 21-year-old remains in an induced coma, suffering serious facial fractures.

The 31-year-old man's condition is considered more serious after he suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.

A 32-year-old man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm in regards to the second incident involving the 31-year-old victim.

He was granted bail and will appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court on June 17.

The incidents were alleged to have taken place on Goondoon St at between 3-3.30am on Monday morning.

Detectives are still looking for information about the first incident, in which it is believed the 21-year-old man was assaulted by a group of three offenders.
