BASKETBALL: Australians Joe Ingles and Dante Exum will face title favourites Golden State in the NBA Western Conference semi-finals after their Utah Jazz claimed a 4-3 playoffs series win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Starting forward Ingles contributed 12 points, five rebounds and four steals in the series-clinching 104-91 win in LA as the Jazz equalled their best season since 2009-10.

Exum failed to score in eight minutes off the bench but had two rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Gordon Hayward scored 26 points for the Jazz.

The Warriors swept Portland 4-0 and have been waiting since last Thursday to find out their next opponent. Game 1 is Wednesday (12.30pm AEST) in Oakland.

Isaiah Thomas, meanwhile, led the Boston Celtics to a 123-111 win over the Washington Wizards in the first game of their Eastern Conference semi-final match-up.

Thomas, who had only just returned from attending the funeral of his sister, had 33 points and nine assists, and had one of his front teeth dislodged after an early game collision.

Tomorrow: Raptors v Cavaliers 9am, Rockets v Spurs 11.30am (times AEST).
