Australian star fades out in French Open

RISING Aussie star Nick Kyrgios has been unable to replicate his shock debut in last year's French Open, beaten 6-3 7-6 6-3 in the first round this year by No.8 seed Milos Raonic.

Kyrgios (pictured), who beat Czech veteran Radek Stepanek in the first round as an 18-year-old in 2013, was the youngest player in the men's draw again and said he wasn't too disappointed with the way he played against the

Canadian.

"It's exciting to be out here playing another Grand Slam," the young Australian said. "I played really well from the back. There were a couple loose errors here and there, but that's the pressure he gives you on his serve."

Women's top seed Serena Williams had no trouble beating Frenchwoman Alize Lim 6-2 6-1, while No.3 seed Agnieszka Radwanska beat China's Shuai Zhang 6-3 6-0.

Former winner Roger Federer moved through after disposing of Slovakia's Lukas Lacko 6-2 6-4 6-2.
