THE Bachelorette winner Sasha Mielczarek is looking forward to the little things now that his relationship with Sam Frost has gone public.

The 30-year-old construction manager from the NSW South Coast was crowned the inaugural winner of Channel 10's popular reality dating show last night.

The loved up couple has been keeping their relationship a secret since the show's grand finale was filmed in New Zealand four months ago.

"It's the best feeling in the world," Mielczarek told APN.

"I've had to hide the fact that I've been with someone for the past four months, even from my friends and most of my family.

"I'm just wrapped to take her down the road for a coffee."

During last night's finale Mielczarek had to ask Frost if he'd won after she told him she loved him and she replied with a "yes you idiot"

"When I was standing there and she was telling me all this beautiful, heartfelt stuff I was trying to soak everything in," he said.

"When she said she loved me it wasn't really registering.

"That just sums up our relationship. We love to have a laugh."

Mielczarek was one of 14 suitors 26-year-old Frost met on the reality dating show. But he nearly wasn't one of them, initially turning down the offer to appear on the show.

"I didn't want to commit until I knew who the girls was," he said.

"When Sam was announced that morning - I still remember it was Wednesday the 29th of April - I immediately got on the emails and asked if there was a spot for me."

Luckily for him and Frost, who went on the show to move on from her very public break up with Bachelor Blake Garvey last year, he got a second chance.

"It was love at first sight I think for both of us," he said.

"I used to be the guy who would sit back at home going 'what an idiot how can you fall in love on national television?' But it does happen and (I've learned) you can never rule anything out."

The Bachelorette has been a ratings winner for Channel 10, in some ways out-performing the show which inspired it, The  Bachelor.

Channel 10 today confirmed a second season of The Bachelorette will go into production next year.
