WHAT started as a backyard hobby has now become a world-wide successful venture for Flavio Raccanello of Hodgson Vale.

Mr Raccanello was happily displaying the fodder at his Fodder Solutions stall at Heritage Ag Show last week.

The idea began seven years ago in his backyard shed.

The business has now expanded to around the world, including America and England as well as franchises in Asia and South Africa.

"What started as a bit of a hobby in my shed has turned into a business in more than 10 countries," Mr Raccanello said.

"We've had heaps of interest so far. It's something a bit innovative and different."

Fodder Solutions manufacture a specialised growing system that transforms dry dormant grains, seeds and legumes into a lush highly nutritious feed.

In just six days, the fodder is then ready.

The smallest unit is capable of producing over 14.5 ton of fresh green sprouts every year, regardless of the weather.

For more information on the product call Fodder Solutions head office on 1300 725 070.
