
Balaclava bandits shoot robbery victim in home invasion
TWO men are on the run after a man was shot during a robbery on the Gold Coast overnight.
Police said the offenders, who were wearing balaclavas, forced their way into a home on Rutledge St at Coolangatta about 2.05am.
"Once inside, an altercation has ensued with one of the occupants of the house, a 32-year-old man. During the altercation, the 32-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to his left thigh," police said.
"The two men have then taken a safe containing a sum of cash and a set of keys to an Audi from the residence before fleeing the scene in the Audi."
The car was a black 2012 Audi Q3 with Queensland registration plates NV05.
The victim was taken to Tweed Heads Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
