Ballina family wins Coast holiday

"UNDERWATER World, Australia Zoo, I want to visit on a break overdue, Sunshine Coast has got the most, a holiday destination of which to boast.”

Dreaming of a holiday on the Sunshine Coast while she wrote this, never in her wildest dreams did Kym from Ballina think she’d win The Taste of the Sunshine Coast Family Adventure Promotion, a joint competition from APN and Sunshine Coast Destinations Limited.

But out of 576 entries, Kym’s was picked and now she and her family of four are preparing to drive up to the Sunshine Coast on Saturday for a “break overdue”.

When asked what she was looking forward to most Kym said to get away and relax.

Ironically however, her seven day stay is jam packed with activities such as visiting the Coast’s leading tourist attractions; Australia Zoo, UnderWater World and Eumundi Markets, just to name a few.

“I am looking forward to going to UnderWater World and getting a kiss from a seal.

“We’re also going to go to the Eumundi Markets and the Ginger Factory.

“I am really looking forward to going to Australia Zoo. My son has been there but he’s the only one from our family so it will be exciting. We’re heading there the moment we arrive and then onto our accommodation in Caloundra for a few nights.”

After staying at Monaco Apartments in Caloundra, Kym and her family will head to Skipper's Cover Waterfront Resort in Noosa for a few days before heading south again and staying at Beachside Resort Kawana Waters.

“I can’t wait to factor in some beach time, long walks and time to relax.”

When Kym and her family aren’t visiting tourist attractions, lying on the beach, going for walks or just relaxing they’ll be dining it up in some of the Coast premier restaurants and cafes.

“We’ve been given restaurant vouchers for Bistro C, Sands, Café Kiosk and the Boatshed.

“We’ve also been given a gift card for Sunshine Plaza which is going to come in handy!”

We’ll check back in with Kym and her family as they sadly leave the Sunshine Coast to see just how great their holiday was.
