Suspected broken hips for man bashed then attacked by a dog
POLICE are investigating after a man was viciously bashed and then attacked by a dog. The violent confrontation allegedly followed a "traffic incident".
The 20-year-old victim is believed to have suffered significant injuries, including a fractured hip, during the attacks.
A police spokesman said the man had gone to a Cooyar St at Noosa Junction on Wednesday after a traffic incident involving a woman.
No details on the type of traffic incident or where it happened were available yesterday.
Police said the victim fell on the ground after he was allegedly struck several times by a man at the house.
He was then allegedly set upon by a dog on the property. The man made his way to Noosa Police Station and made a complaint about 6.30pm. He is believed to have then sought medical treatment.
However, neither Nambour General nor Noosa hospitals could find any record of his admittance yesterday.
Detectives from Noosa CIB confirmed they were investigating the matter.
Noosa Shire Council was yet to be informed of the dog attack as of yesterday and had consequently taken no action on the canine or its owner.
