Bennett names Titan for England league debut
GOLD Coast Titans utility player Chris McQueen is among five uncapped players named by England coach Wayne Bennett for a mid-season Test against Samoa next month.
But McQueen's Titans teammate Joe Greenwood, who is chasing a dream of representing his country, missed out as Bennett included eight Australian-based players for the May 6 Test in Sydney.
McQueen, a Queensland State of Origin rep, was born in Australia but qualifies through his English-born father.
The England squad to face Samoa is: Sam Burgess, Tom Burgess (South Sydney); Luke Gale, Mike McMeeken, Zak Hardaker (Castleford); James Graham (Canterbury); Ryan Hall, Kallum Watkins (Leeds); Chris Heighington (Cronulla); Chris Hill (Warrington); Josh Hodgson, Elliott Whitehead (Canberra); Jermaine McGillvary (Huddersfield); Chris McQueen (Gold Coast); Sean O'Loughlin, George Williams (Wigan); Mark Percival, Alex Walmsley (St Helens), Scott Taylor (Hull FC), Gareth Widdop (St George-Illawarra).
The England-Samoa Test is to be played at Campbelltown Sports Ground in Sydney.
