An out of control party ends with drunken teens arrested

IT WAS a wild Friday night for more than 150 teenagers who attended a party in Berserker that got out of hand.

Police were called to a Rodboro St residence at 11pm after reports of numerous people fighting at a party.

Officers shut down the out of control party after a large group of drunken teens were involved in a fight and refused to leave the property.

Police monitored the area for over an hour while the crowd, estimated to be over 150 young people, left the area.

Six local teenagers were arrested for various offences from public nuisance to willful damage, while seven were given tickets ranging from $112 to $341 for liquor offences.

No complaints of assault were made to police.

Senior Sergeant Derek Pickless said investigations into the fight were continuing. "People need to plan and consider the consequences of having an open party advertised on social media," Snr Sgt Pickless said.

"We were fortunate in this case that no one appears to have been seriously injured, however hopefully both organisers and people who attended the party will think before they party in the future."
