Best of SA's wines all in one place

SOUTH Australia's wine industry will once again come together under one roof for the second Cellar Door Wine Festival - Adelaide in February.

The festival gives wine enthusiasts the opportunity to explore 12 wine regions and enjoy tastings from more than 150 wineries, along with a few breweries.

The three-day event (February 24-26) features a series of master classes including Tastes of the Barossa, Wine and Chocolate Tasting, and the Spiegelau Beer Glass Tasting.

A regional Farmers Market will allow visitors to sample and buy delights from boutique producers, and beer fans can sample brews from micro breweries through to independent SA family brewer Coopers.

The Cellar Door Wine Festival is managed and hosted by the Adelaide Convention Centre.

ACC exhibition manager Alex Tietgen said the festival would offer the best of SA wine and local produce.

"The festival will be very entertaining, but it's also about giving people a high-level, informed wine experience," Ms Tietgen said.

"We'll have lots of delicious South Australian food to try, a pop-up store from (chocolatier) Bracegirdles, plus food stalls including the Smelly Cheese Shop, Tucker's Crackers, Skara Smallgoods, Bd Farm and Spice Girlz."

Wine Australia's domestic market development officer Chad Elson said the Cellar Door Wine Festival was a great model to promote South Australian wines right in the heart of Adelaide.

Cellar Door Wine Festival entry ticket includes unlimited tastings and your own Riedel wine glass.
