Big guns team up to help SMEs

Panasonic Australia, Telstra Business and two past Telstra Business Award winners have teamed up to produce a series of podcasts offering guidance for aspiring SMEs.

Developed to coincide with the 2011 Telstra Business Awards, the six-part series offers advice to Australian small and medium business owners on how they can better use mobile technologies and also leverage strategic partnerships to grow their business.

Past award winners Michael Snare - Managing Director and Owner of Point Project Management, and Clyde Campbell - CEO of Machinery Automation and Robotics, feature in the podcasts, sharing their stories of building and growing their businesses from start-up companies to extremely successful and innovative enterprises.

The series also draws on the experience of Charles Agee, Executive Director, Small Business – Telstra Australia and Mark Deere-Jones, Director of Business Systems – Panasonic Australia, as they discuss the current trends and challenges facing Australian small businesses.

“We are very excited to launch this new series as we celebrate this year’s Telstra Business Award winners, and we hope that Australian small business owners will be inspired by Clyde and Michael’s success stories,” said Mark Deere-Jones.

“The series was really about demystifying some of the aspects of running a business that many small businesses owners simply don’t have the time or resources to consider, so hopefully the podcasts will encourage those business owners to take the steps needed to really innovate and enhance their companies,” he said.

Mr Agee said through Telstra Business’ research and work with the SME sector, it was clear that business operators were looking for advice and new ways to help them grow their business.

“Given that this sector is often time poor, the podcast series provides easy to digest information that can help the sector, which is a key driver of the Australian economy, address some of the issues they face as they take the next steps in their journey,” Mr Agee said.
