Bindi also dropped something of a bombshell on the show, as she told Hough that "my kind of music, truthfully but noone knows this is heavy metal".

"That's what my mum and dad especially would listen to," she said.

"I was so little then and I was just so happy with my family in the middle of the zoo. That's what I remember most and that's what I associate with this kind of music."

The television show promoted Bindi as hailing from Buderim.

Bindi made clear though that she currently resides in Beerwah.

"I live on the Sunshine Coast, right in the middle of Australia Zoo," she said.

"My alarm clock in the morning is the tigers growling and the birds singing. That's my life."

Mum Terri also chimed in.

"It's just the most beautiful area. And Bindi's hometown is really where her heart lies."

Hometown Glory Week will continue during a second night where Bindi will dance in a dedication to partner Derek Hough's hometown.
