Blake withdraws from Australian Open

POPULAR American James Blake will miss the first grand slam of 2012.

The world number 59 out had pulled out of the Brisbane event for personal reasons next week, and will now miss the Australian Open, starting on January 16th.

Still recuperating from a knee injury, Blake is hoping to open his season at the SAP Open in San Jose.

It is the second successive year Blake has missed the Australian Open.
