SURF lifesavers have discovered a body in the search for a missing boy off Cabarita Beach.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said surf lifesavers found a body on the beach just north of Salt at 6.15am (AEDT) this morning.

Police are yet to identify the body but believe it is the body of the Kenyan teenager, Samuel Macharia, who went missing after going for a run and a swim at Cabarita Beach on Sunday.

The search for the missing boy involved Tweed Byron police, police divers, SES, lifesavers and the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter.
