THIS is the first instalment of the new trilogy from Nora Roberts.

It is based on the township of Boonsboro in the United States where Nora Roberts has actually restored the local inn.

It centres on the Montgomery Family who is restoring the historic and haunted Boonsboro Inn.

The town of Boonsbora has seen many changes over the years.

The townspeople cannot wait for the scaffolding and tarps to come down to see what the Montgomery family have done to restore the Boonsbora Inn to its former glory.

Clare Brewster, a widow with three young boys who has returned to Boonsbora after her husband's death in Iraq to run the local bookstore, is fascinated by the inn and also by Beckett Montgomery, the architect of the family.

Clare was Beckett's first love at 15, so will he finally get that kiss he has been waiting for?

Will the inn live up to everyone's expectations and more importantly will the resident ghost of the inn approve?

The story follows the lives of the people of Boonsboro with all the drama and goings on that can only happen in a small town where everyone knows each other and looks out for each other.

It is a typical Nora Roberts novel focusing on one family and having one member the central character with the focus on the other members in the books to come.

The Next Always was a very enjoyable read and I am looking forward to the follow up books about the Montgomery family.
