Booting away the kilos

BLACKWATER'S boot-camp babes have beaten the bulge and collectively shed about 60kg in the Michelle Bridges 12-week Body Transformation program.

Local trainer Tanya Connolly started a boot camp to support the women during the challenge. When that challenge came to an end, she continued sessions with more women signing on.

"We got such a good reaction to the first boot camp that people pushed for it to keep going with more classes," Tanya said.

"All up, during the 12-week challenge, about 60kg combined was lost.

"It's fantastic. They've done so well."

Tanya said the numbers kept growing as more women were turning up to sign on to the fitness regimen.

"We have about 20 women show up to each class, and it just continues to grow," she said.

Boot camp is held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Blackwater soccer fields from 9-10am and in the afternoons from 5-6pm.

Tanya said it was great for mums, who could take their children with them as they took part in the exercises.

"The classes in the morning work out well for mums because they can bring their kids down to the fields," she said.

With the boot camp continuing to grow and more people signing up, Tanya is excited to keep pushing the limits.

"It's like my baby now," she said with a laugh.
