Botha to strike for Adelaide

FORMER South African T20 captain Johan Botha has caught Big Bash fever and will lead the Adelaide Strikers in the coming BBL season.

Botha, who has averaged 19.30 with the bat and has taken 32 wickets in 32 games for South Africa in the short format, enjoyed last year's stint with the Strikers so much he has moved his family to the the South Australian capital.

"I had an incredible time with the Strikers last year. We had an electric atmosphere at our home games - to have over 24,000 people was amazing and I can't wait to get out there again," the 30-year-old said.

Botha played four games for the Strikers last season, making 75 runs at 37.50 with a strike rate of 144.23, and took five wickets at 19.80.

Meanwhile the Brisbane Beat yesterday announced it had added spinner Nathan Hauritz to its squad.

And the Perth Scorchers unveiled the three musketeers - good mates Marcus North, Mike Hussey and Simon Katich - as its latest signings.

The Melbourne Renegades also confirmed it had re-signed hard-hitting batsman Aaron Finch for the next three seasons.

Finch top scored for the Renegades - the big disappointment of the last competition - with 259 runs from seven visits to the crease.
