A SYDNEY bouncer has been cleared over killing a young party goer who drowned near a Darling Harbour nightclub.

Ehab Taleb, 25, was found not guilty today of Jason Daep's manslaughter after more than three weeks of evidence.

The Sydney District Court heard Mr Daep, 19, could not swim and drowned in February 2012 after a fight broke out at the Pontoon Bar.

Mr Taleb was not involved in the first altercation at the crowded nightspot but prosecutors had alleged he had pushed Mr Daep into the water.

He will now be sentenced on May 1 for the lesser charge of affray which he pleaded guilty to last year.
