Boy, 7, rushed to hospital after black snake bite
UPDATE 11.02AM: Ambulance officers are rushing a seven-yaer-old boy to Nambour General Hospital after he was bitten by a black snake at Maleny.
The boy was treated at the scene and a critical care paramedic is following his transport vehicle in case his situation worsens.
"Our critical care paramedic is following behind that ambulance vehicle as a precaution in case he deteriorates," an ambulance service spokeswoman said.
EARLIER, 10.26AM: A young boy has reportedly been bitten by a snake in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
An ambulance is racing to the scene at Mountain View Rd, Maleny, after receiving a call at 10.17am today.
The boy has reportedly been bitten on the leg and it is not yet known whether the snake is venomous, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.
