Brewery wins five medals at international competition

BYRON Bay Brewery has picked up a swag of medals at an international competition at Melbourne.

The Australian International Beer Awards judged 1560 beers made by 294 brewers from 31 countries and were judged by a panel of 40 experts from Australia, Norway, Belgium, United States, United Kingdom, Japan and New Zealand.

Despite the stiff competition, the little Byron Brewery managed to round up medals for five of the beers brewed at the Arts Factory.

The company picked up a silver medal for its Byron Bay Premium Ale, and bronze medals for its Byron Bay Billygoat Dark Lager, Byron Bay Pale Ale, Byron Bay Redbelly Mid Strength, and Byron Bay Scotty's Wicked Wit.
