MILEY Cyrus might be partying the nights away on her Bangerz world tour, but for Brisbane singer Naomi Price - who's prepping to play Miley onstage - it's the complete opposite.

"She posted a picture last night of herself eating fish and chips, and I was like 'Do you know how much I would kill for fish and chips right now, but I can't eat that because I'm trying to be you'," Price said.

The 30-year-old has been on a rigorous "twerk out" program ahead of Wrecking Ball, the parody cabaret in which she portrays the tongue-flashing, Instagramming pop superstar.

The show is Price and co-writer Adam Brunes's follow-up to Rumour Has It, the smash hit Adele homage that toured extensively through Queensland and interstate in 2012-13.

"With Adele I never had to worry about anything, spray tans, never had to watch what I eat," she said of the character she used to wear padding to play.

"But Miley's certainly not body conscious ... I call Adam on the way home from the gym saying 'I hope you know the pain I am going through to deliver this show'."

Wrecking Ball premieres at the Brisbane Powerhouse next week, just a week before the Queensland Cabaret Festival begins.
