Two snakebite victims transported to Toowoomba

UPDATE: CareFlight medics were called to two snakebite victims in the Toowoomba region yesterday.

A woman, 60, was gardening in the yard of her Goondiwindi home when she was bitten on the foot by an unidentified snake.

About 1.20pm the Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter flew to Goondiwindi Hospital and transported the woman to Toowoomba Hospital. She travelled in a stable condition.

The Roma-based Surat Gas Aero-Medical Service airlifted a man in his 40s from Glenmorgan yesterday morning after he was bitten on the back of the leg by a brown snake.

The Surat Gas Aero-Medical helicopter flew to the scene from Roma at 8.45am.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated the man at the scene, before the CareFlight specialist medical crew transported him to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.

EARLIER: A snake bite victim has been flown to Toowoomba Hospital for treatment this morning.

Paramedics were called to the Glenmorgan property at 7.52am today.

A man aged in his 40s had been bitten on the back of the leg by a brown snake.

The Surat Gas Aero-Medical Service helicopter was then called at 8.45am to fly the man from the scene.

He travelled in the helicopter in a stable condition.
