Bruce Hwy truckie’s off-road traffic jam escape

WATCH THE VIDEO: A truckie has been caught on dashcam going off-road to escape a traffic jam caused by a crash on the Bruce Highway.

The dashcam footage, uploaded to Youtube, shows traffic coming to a grinding halt ahead of what the uploader describes as "another crash on the Bruce".

But rather than get caught in the traffic jam, the truckie takes evasive action.

He suddenly turns left, driving through a grassed median strip and on to an off ramp.

The dual-trailer truck is seen disappearing into the distance down the ramp as the dashcam-fitted car hits the heavily congested section of highway.
