HERVEY Bay teenager Bryce Hunt is no ordinary 17-year-old.

Since leaving school he has successfully started an international web and graphic design business which runs out of the UK.

And now he's turning his attention to helping those who have been less fortunate.

Bryce, from the UK, is the youngest business leader to be taking part in this year's CEO sleepout.

It's an annual event run by the St Vincent de Paul Society to raise much-needed funds and help bring attention to the plight of the homeless.

For one night, hundreds of CEO's from around the country sleep rough at sites in each capital city.

Bryce will be heading to Brisbane's Suncorp Piazza in South Bank on Thursday, June 16, to join the Queensland team.

He said he had always wanted to know what it was like to sleep on the streets and when he heard about the Vinnies event, he signed up straight away.

While he has never been homeless in the true sense of the word Bryce says he knows what it's like to do it tough.

Before finding success in the online world, no one would give him a job.

And even though he has spent most of his life in a chilly corner of the world, Bryce admits a winter night out in the open is likely to be less than comfortable.

“It's going to be really, really cold,” Bryce said

“I'm cold enough in my bed at home at the moment.

“But the whole point is raising awareness for the people out there who sleep like that all the time.”

In Queensland Vinnies have more than 420 beds for those in need.

Last year 35 business leaders made up this Queensland team but numbers are already up this time around.

Bryce looks forward to sharing the experience with other bosses and hopes he will be embraced regardless of his age.
