Buddy will be fit for Geelong, says Swans teammate

SYDNEY ball magnet Dan Hannebery has declared Buddy Franklin a definite starter for Friday night's blockbuster against Geelong.

Franklin copped a knock to the leg last week against Essendon and spent the bulk of the second half on the bench.

He is likely to only train lightly today in preparation for the crunch semi-final.

"With a corkie it's one of those ones where you might do a little bit of training, you don't want to do too much to stir it up," Hannebery told SEN Breakfast.

"What I do know, he'll be 100% playing, there's no way you'll be able to keep him off the MCG in a final."

Hannebery also indicated the Swans' 0-6 start to the season could be a blessing in disguise.

"There was a point in time every week for a period of five or six weeks it was an elimination final," Hannebery said.

"If we didn't win it would make finals incredibly difficult so in a way it did help sharpen our focus.

"In hindsight it's probably helped us in the back half of the season and probably helps you prepare for a finals series in a way, having played some of those cutthroat games at different stages throughout the year."
