Building a pet getaway

YOUR pets will soon be begging you to go on holidays, with the Maraboon Pet Resort scheduled to open by the end of October.

Construction has begun for the new boarding kennel, cattery and grooming studio on KeepingSt, opposite Emerald Airport.

Maraboon Veterinary Surgery directors DrAngela Sutherland and her husband Alec said they were thrilled to announce building had started on the new boarding kennel using the services of local tradespeople.

With a growing demand for a new boarding facility, Dr Angi said she and her team were excited to be taking on the large construction project and had high motivation to get the boarding kennel component up and running as soon as possible.

"There has already been a lot of interest generated for this new project, so this new facility will provide a great service and location to our local community," she explained.

Dr Angi said the Maraboon Pet Resort would aim to provide the highest quality in pet accommodation, with the added bonus of a convenient location for all clients who live in the Central Highlands

"We also want to provide our clients with a range of accommodation options, so we have included everything from basic kennels to luxury cabins in our building plans," she said.

"We feel it is extremely important for our clients to be able to view the facilities that their beloved pets will be staying in, so we will be launching an open day and allowing facility visits for the public.

"Please note that these visits will have to be booked with our staff in order to accommodate all the interest we have received.

"We want our clients to feel 100% comfortable and confident that their pets are receiving the best care possible."

The Maraboon Pet Resort will take bookings closer to the opening date, so keep an eye out in coming months for the grand opening and website launch.
