Bulldogs' Crameri to marry on grand final eve

AFL: Stewart Crameri will likely have more of his old Essendon teammates attend his wedding than those at his current side, the Bulldogs.

The forward, who has sat out of football for the last 12 months as one of the past and present Bombers embroiled in the supplements saga, ties the knot with partner Jess this Friday night.

But, with the Bulldogs to contest the club's first grand final in 55 years the next day, members of the senior squad are expected to give it a miss.

The scheduling was slammed by David Schwarz on his radio show Breakfast with Frank and Ox yesterday, describing it as "ludicrous”.

"He's got 40 mates from two clubs that are part of the AFL system. Why would you be getting married on grand final eve? Who gets married on grand final eve anyway?” he said.

The Bulldogs weren't expected to get past the first week of the finals with a first-up eliminator against an in-form West Coast in Perth.

Crameri's suspension ended last week.
